Day 1: Arrive in Kathmandu airport and transfer your Hotel
From Tribhuban International Airport you will be transferred to your hotel by our office representative. In the afternoon you will invite to visit our office for briefing about the each day program. Today you will receive your Langtang National park Permits and TIMS.
Day 2: Sightseeing of Kathmandu valley UNESCO world heritage sites & trek Preparation
We tour Durbar Square, Pashupatinath temple, Swayambhunath stupa and Bouddhanath stupa which are all world heritage sites. The Durbar Square sheds light on the life of the royals in ancient times. Pashupatinath temple is one of the most important places of pilgrimage for all Hindus. Swayambhunath is also known as the Monkey Temple and Boudhanath Stupa is one of the largest stupas in the world. At noon, we are introduced to our trek guide and porters and discuss our trip at office. Overnight in Kathmandu.
Day 3: Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara, 5-6 hours trek
We have breakfast then leave for Pokhara, also known as The Lake City owing to the large number of lakes in the city. Upon our arrival in Pokhara, we are rewarded with magnificent views of the Himalayas including Dhaulagiri, Manaslu, Machhapuchhre, the five peaks of Annapurna and others. We then check-in to our hotel and take a rest. We enjoy boating in the Fewa Lake and stroll in the city’s quaint streets. Overnight in Pokhara.
Day 4: From Pokhara fly to Jomsom & Trek to Kagbeni, 3 hours trek
Early in morning, we will fly between the snow covered peaks of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri to Jomsom. The sights of towering massifs rising to more than 8,000 meters, and the river with the deepest gorge on the planet are just mind-blowing. At Jomsom we will start our Upper Mustang trek to Kagbeni. This is the main gate to Upper Mustang, situated at an altitude of (2,800m), Kagbeni village dates from around the 14th century when it was a check post for traders from Nepal. There is still a checkpoint to control the groups departing for Muktinath and Mustang. Overnight at a guesthouse.
Day 5: Kagbeni to Chele, 5-6 hours trek
We get our permits checked then begin our trek on a trail alongside the Kali Gandaki River. We walk on sand amidst strong winds before ascending on a hill. We reach the Tangbe Village and admire its narrow alleyways, white-washed houses, barley and buckwheat fields, and apple orchards. We continue our walk and pass another village and cross a river on our way. Next, we walk on a ridge before reaching Chele Village. Overnight in Chele.
Day 6: Chele to Syanbochen, 6-7 hours trek
Our trek from today will be a little hard compared to what we experienced before. Our walk today involves crossing two passes, Taklam La pass (3,624m) and Dajori La ass (3,735). On our way, we enjoy great views of Tilicho, Yakawa Kang and Damodar Danda and pass by Ramchung Cave. We descend further and reach Samar Village. From here we walk on a trail above the village and reach a ridge. Next, we descend on a steep trail to a stream and continue our trek to Syanboche. Overnight in Syanboche.
Day 7: Trek to Ghami, 5 hours trek
From Syangboche we climb gently to a small pass of 3800m/12,467ft with extraordinary views of mountains and deep valleys into the wind eroded canyons. Today’s walk is effortless with few short climbs in between but beautiful scenery alongside would hardly allow us to realize the passing away of time and arrive at Ghami for lunch. Overnight in Ghami.
Day 8: Ghami to Tsarang, 5-6 hours trek
Our trek today begins with a descent through a rough and often slippery trail. We then cross a suspension bridge over the Ghami Khola and begin ascending. The pathway is beautiful with mani walls along the trail. Next, we cross the Tsarang La Pass at 3870m and reach Tsarang village. The village lies atop the Charang Chu canyon with a huge fortress and a red gompa towards its east. Overnight in Tsarang.
Day 9: Trek from Charang to Lo Manthang, 5-6 hours trek
We begin our trek by descending to a canyon and cross a river before beginning our uphill trek to Lo La pass which at 3950m. From the top of the pass we can admire the beautiful Lo Manthang village. From the pass we descend to Lo Manthang which is a beautiful walled village. From here the views of the Himalayas including Nilgiri, Tilicho and Annapurna I, Bhrikuti Peak as well as Damodar Kunda (pond) is quite good. Overnight in Lo-Manthang.
Day 10: Explore Lo Manthang/ Acclimatization
Lo Manthang is a walled town of the remote Upper Mustang region of Nepal. We spend the day touring three major gompas of the town namely Jhampa, Thupchen and Chhoeda. All of these gompas have undergone expert restoration over the last two decades. We can also trek to Tingkhar which is a beautiful village located north-west of Lo-Mangthang. Overnight in Lo Manthang.
Day 11: Lo-Manthang to Drakmar, 6-7 hours trek
Today our trail ascends steadily and offers a last glimpse of Lo Manthang before climbing a ridge at 4070m and continuing to the Chogo La (4210m/13810ft). This is the highest point on our Upper Mustang Trek. The trail then advances to a short, steep descent and crosses the Charang River. We will climb to Lo Geker and arrive at Ghar Gompa, a small monastery. We then climb the ridge, cross a valley and alpine meadows, and then drop down a steep eroded path to Drakmar. Overnight at a guesthouse.
Day 12: Drakmar to Ghiling, 5-6 hours trek
We start our trek early to avoid strong winds and descend for the most part of the trek. Our trail passes through a dry plateau and fields before reaching Ghiling. The walk can be relatively difficult as we are most likely to experience strong winds on our face. Ghiling is mostly dry, but we still get good views of Dhaulagiri and Nilgiri mountains. We can tour the village around the evening. Overnight in Ghiling.
Day 13: Ghiling to Chhuksang, 5-6 hours trek
We begin our trek after breakfast. We walk on the same trail as before going up to Lo Manthang. On the way to Chhuksang we can enjoy great views of the Himalayas and small villages we pass en route. Overnight in Chhuksang.
Day 14: Chusang to Muktinath, 7 hours trek
Today we will follow the stream, pass Chhusang village and make a short steep ascent onto the valley floor. We keep ascending until we reach a small pass from where we can see Muktinath and the red painted Buddhist Monasteries. After traversing the pass, we drop down to the stream and cross via a suspension bridge. We ascend for a while and walk through the villages to Muktinath. This route is very popular for the Fossil stone “Saligrams” which is mainly found between Tetang and Gyu La Pass (4077m). It also offers a terrific 140 degree view of the Annapurna, Dhaulagiri and Tukuche Himalayan range.
Day 15: Muktinath to Jomsom, 5-6 hours trek
Muktinath is one of most important destinations for Hindu pilgrims and it is also an important place for Buddhists. In the morning, we will visit Muktinath Temple. We can enjoy the magnificent views of Dhaulagiri peak from here. There are water spouts which channel into the stream running above the temple. There is also a Buddhist Monastery nearby. Our trail descends through the village of Jharkot where we can explore the Jharkot monastery; this is both a Tibetan herbal medical center and an old fortress. We continue our trek back to Jomsom. The views of the Kaligandaki valley and Kagbeni village along the way are truly overwhelming. We pass by Ekle Bhatti and finally arrive at Jomsom where we can celebrate the completion of the trek with all the trekking staff.
Day 16: Fly back to Pokhara
We take an early morning flight to Pokhara. The airplane passes through a gorge between Annapurna and Dhaulagiri mountains making the flight itself an amazing experience. After arriving in Pokhara, we can spend the rest of the day in leisure. Overnight in Pokhara.
Day 17: Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu
After breakfast, This will be a journey along river banks with wonderful views of terraced hills and the rural Nepalese lifestyle. After reaching Kathmandu, we take a rest. To celebrate the successful completion of our journey, we will have a farewell dinner in the evening. Overnight in Kathmandu.
Day 18: Final departure
Our trekking in Nepal ends today hence our representative will drop you at the Tribhuvan International Airport three hours before the flight. We give you much fun and memory that you’ll never forget about.
